HILLSDALE, COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A Michigan State Police trooper is being credited with finding a missing elderly man Sunday.
The trooper conducted a traffic stop Sunday night on US-127 near US-223.
The 94-year-old driver had departed his hometown of South Lyon, Michigan to go to Redford in suburban Detroit when he got off the highway and became lost.
The driver made it to Hudson and began to travel back north. He was stopped after he turned the wrong way onto a one-way portion of road.
The trooper contacted a family member who said that though she had not yet made a police report, she had been trying to find the driver since 5:00 p.m..
The trooper stayed with the driver until the grateful family members arrived and transported him home.
