PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s a juvenile crime wave in Portage.
The first occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block of West Milham Avenue when the homeowner returned and found his back door open and their flat screen TV and PS4 gaming system missing.
Public Safety’s K-9 Zorro was put on the scent and led officers to home nearby.
They booked the boy into the juvenile home on a burglary charge. They suspect other youngsters were also involved.
About four hours later, Portage Public Safety Officers arrested a 15-year-old boy and his 13-year old brother for three separate burglaries over the last month in the 300 block of East Centre Avenue.
The teens stole about $5,600 worth of electronic gaming equipment and about $1,500 of it has been recovered.
No other information has been released at this time and it’s unclear if the robberies are connected.
