LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The State of Michigan is shutting down.
The Legislature will not meet, all non-essential personnel are being told to stay home.
Western Michigan University, The University of Michigan, Michigan State, and Grand Valley have all cancelled classes along with hundreds of other schools.
Many businesses are closing and everyone is hunkering down to wait for warmer temperatures to return.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer says keeping Michiganders safe is their top priority.
The standard advice is, if you don’t have to leave home, stay there, but if you do have to go out, limit your exposure to this bitterly cold air as much as possible.
