LEROY TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An investigation is underway after an elderly woman who was missing for months was found buried outside her home in Calhoun County.
Authorities were called to do a welfare check in the 10,000 block of 4 Mile Road in Leroy Township, just south of Battle Creek, around 6:00 p.m. Thursday after friends of 74-year-old Phyllis Lutz said they haven’t seen her since September 2018.
Michigan State Police contacted family members and later found Lutz’s body buried near the front of her home on Friday.
No other information has been released at this time and investigators are calling the death suspicious.
