PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Public Safety officers are searching for a pair of thieves that nabbed some collectable gold coins worth over $10,000.
The incident occurred at Scott’s Sports Cards, Coins, and Jewelry on South Westnedge Avenue just before 2:30 p.m. on Monday January 14th.
Authorities say a man and a woman asked an employee to show them several gold and silver coins and when the man was showing the worker his watch and asking him to package some other coins they never purchased, the woman snuck the American Eagle gold coins into her pocket.
The thieves were both described as short, Hispanic, and in their mid 30’s. The woman had long black hair in a ponytail and the man had short black hair and a goatee.
