KALAMAZOO(WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Government will move ahead with their plan to build a new courthouse and administrative building on a lot along Kalamazoo Avenue, a location that some hoped would be the home of a downtown arena.
In fact the County’s plan had been put on hold because of the arena discussion. Last night County Commissioners decided to move ahead on their plan, which may now cost more than the original $100-million dollar price tag because of the delay.
Board Chair Julie Rogers says they have asked administration for an update on the costs.
Several other projects are all contingent on the county’s plan moving forward.
