HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids meteorologists issued a winter weather advisory, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, through 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, in all of West Michigan.
Affected areas include: Ken, Osceola, Ingham, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta, Ottawa, Eaton, Newaygo, Clinton, Muskegon, Allegan, Mason, Ionia, Van Buren, Clare, Barry, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Lake, Montcalm, Oceana, and Jackson counties.
People can expects areas of freezing drizzle mixed at times with light snow, continuing into early Wednesday morning.
Snow could accumulate up to one inch, with ice accumulating up to one tenth of an inch. That, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph, could create conditions ripe for power outages.
Drivers can expect intermittent visibility issues and slippery road conditions — slide-offs were being reported in the early morning hours — and some school cancellations or delayed starts.
