HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Holland Department of Public Safety Detectives have been working closely with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Zeeland Police Department on a sting of property crimes throughout west Michigan.
Holland Township resident, Keo Lakoun, 40, has been charged and arraigned in the Holland’s 58th District Court on the following charges:
- Illegal Use of a Financial Transaction Device
- Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle
- Malicious Destruction of Property (MDOP)
- Unlawful Driving Away of a Motor Vehicle (UDAA)
- Larceny of a Weapon
Bond was set at $40,000, cash. A series of thefts from vehicles in area business parking lots sparked investigations by area police agencies, according to a statement from the Holland Department of Public Safety, and evidence led police to suspect Lakoun.
Holland Police detectives worked with Ottawa County Sheriff detectives and Zeeland police in executing several search warrants, during which police recovered property reported stolen from Ottawa and Kent counties, the cities of Holland and Zeeland , and Kent County.
Lakoun is suspected of being involved in at least 12 cases with a combined cost of stolen property and damages estimated at more than $15,000
Police continue investigating, attempting to match recovered property to specific crimes and victims, and are working with members of the Ottawa County Prosecutors Office.
