UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — You may see a lot of blue around the office today.
People are encouraged to wear blue Friday January 11th in recognition of “National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.”
The Blue Campaign is a collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, law enforcement officers, governmental and non-governmental officials as well as private organizations to combat human trafficking and bring those who exploit human lives to justice.
Information on how to detect and report human trafficking can be found online at dhs.gov/bluecampaign.
People can spread awareness by sharing pictures of their blue clothing on social media using the hashtag #WearBlueDay.
To report suspected human trafficking, call the National Human Trafficking Resources Center at (888) 373-7888 or text “BeFree” to 233733.
