OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies suspect the pickup truck driver that struck a biker may have been under the influence of drugs during the time of the crash.
They say 52-year-old William Fitzgerald from Paw Paw was pushing his bike traveling west along the 9800 block of Stadium Drive near the border with Van Buren County just before 6 p.m. Sunday when he was hit.
He was rushed to Bronson Hospital with what are now being called non-life-threatening injuries.
The pickup driver, a 53-year-old man from Marcellus was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The crash is still under investigation and the at fault driver’s name will not be released until he is arraigned.
