WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) – As the partial shutdown of the federal government drags on over border security, Michigan’s 7th District Republican Congressman Tim Walberg says there are two people in Washington who can end the stalemate. They are Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Walberg said Friday morning there’s good will among the rank and file as well as majority members of Congress to end the shutdown adding “if anybody is not going to get paid, it’s those two.” Walberg also said on WTVB’s “Delaney in the Morning” program he can’t predict a date as to when the partial shutdown will end.
Walberg started his sixth term in Congress Thursday, but now he is part of the minority party in the House.
