KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The jury selection process is expected to begin today in the trial of Jason Dalton, Kalamazoo’s so-called “Uber killer”.
Dalton is charged with shooting 8 people in three different locations across Kalamazoo nearly three years ago, killing 6 of them, in a murderous spree that made national news.
Prosecutor Jeff Getting says he has enough physical evidence and eyewitness testimony to convict Dalton without the statements Dalton made after his arrest, which were tossed out on appeal.
A jury pool of 200 has been called in and the court has set aside two days to winnow that down to 12 jurors and two alternates who can be impartial.
If they are successful, the trial will begin next week.
