OTTAWA COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A White Cloud man who police say apparently tried to blow up a Catholic Church in Grand Haven with over a dozen big firecrackers has been charged with four felonies in Ottawa County District Court.
32-year-old Tony Wabindato has both a criminal history and a record of mental problems and drug abuse.
He allegedly assaulted a church volunteer who confronted him with a peice from a broken chair.
The incident resulted in the cancellation of Sunday Services at the Church.
By video arraignment, he was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting police and a malicious destruction of property count.
He is being held in the Ottawa County Jail on $50,000 bond.
