BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire in a vacant home in Battle Creek is under investigation because fires aren’t supposed to start in vacant homes, without some human intervention.
Fire crews were dispatched to 249 E. Fountain Street at about 8:30 yesterday morning and they found flames in the first floor living room.
A crew went to work on the flames while other firefighters did a quick search of the rest of the home and found it was empty.
The Fire Marshall is investigating the cause.
