KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A new playground could be coming to downtown Kalamazoo.
The First Congregational Church at the corner of Park and Michigan has purchased the church next door and plans to turn it into a playground to serve Kalamazoo’s children.
Pastor Nathan Dannison says he is working with the Gun Lake Tribe, The Kalamazoo Nature Center and Western Michigan University on what he is calling a “natural playscape” that will be an adjunct to Bronson Park.
The former First Reformed Church is right on the park.
He says it will be for families, but primarily for 2 to 10-year-olds.
Right now they are working out the details on how to make it sustainable.
