BANGOR TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A corn drying device is being blamed for sparking a fire in a silo at a farm in Van Buren County.
Fire Crews were dispatched to the farm on 68th Street in Bangor Township Saturday night. Fire Crews from Bangor and South Haven Area Emergency Services poured water through the top of the silo, but could not save the corn.
They estimate about 6000 bushels of corn was ruined.
A preliminary investigation suggests the drying machine may have malfunctioned.
There were no reports of any injuries.
