KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s a big day on campus for the final class of 2018 at Western Michigan University. Saturday is Graduation Day.
President Edward Montgomery says they will be holding three separate graduation ceremonies today at Miller Auditorium to make sure there is plenty of room for family members and friends who will be attending. 1,651 students will be graduating.
He told Trustees this week about one grad, a man in his 50’s whose first contact with the University was as a drug addict receiving treatment at the Unified Clinics. He has come out of it with a career, becoming a major in addiction studies. He now plans to help people overcome their addictions. Among the graduates will be 65 military veterans and international students from 32 countries.
