LAWRENCE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Human remains have been found in Van Buren County by someone on their lunch break at a nearby business.
Sergeant Brian Kastelic says a State Police Forensics team was dispatched to recover the remains in the 900 block of Crandall Parkway just south of Lawrence near I-94 around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
He says its proximity to the interstate suggests it may have been a body from someplace else that was dumped in the remote location.
Lab techs scoured the grown over area into the night looking for other bits of evidence that might identify the person or suggest how they got there and why and when they died.
They’re working to identify the remains.
