KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has sent out a reminder with a few basic educational tips about the legal status of Marijuana in Michigan, and those who use it.
You have to be 21 or older to use it, but your age won’t matter if you use it just before or while you are driving, are in a car or in a public place, such as a business, a restaurant or a parking lot, you will still get cited.
City Attorney Clyde Robinson tells us he plans to present revised city ordinances that conform to the new state rules to the City Commission soon.
If it’s on their books, then they get to keep the fines when and if they do make arrests and issue citations.
Robinson says he has no plans to recommend the city opt in or opt out of allowing recreational pot businesses in town until the state has sets out the rules for licensing.
