Authorities in White Pigeon have released the name of the pregnant woman and her young son who died in a devastating house fire early Tuesday morning.
They say 35-year-old Jessica Gould and 7-year-old Lonnie Ray Bingaman perished in the fire, trapped in an upstairs bedroom. Fire Chief Troy Andrews says when they arrived, some of the survivors told them the two were still upstairs.
Several who escaped from the burning home required treatment for smoke inhalation.
Apparently they needed the assistance of the Kalamazoo County Medical Examiner’s Office to make positive identification of the two victims. Funeral arrangements are pending.
They suspect an electrical problem sparked the fire.
