LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The efforts by a couple of former Detroit Lions players to help establish a pair of Class C medical marijuana grow operations for up to 15 hundred plants, along with a processing center and a provisioning center, has been halted by the state’s Medical Marijuana Licensing Board.
MIRS News is reporting that this panel today unanimously rejected prequalification license applications by Calvin Johnson and Robert Sims, who were listed as among the supplemental applicants for entities entitled Webberville Ventures and 13-85 South Huron, based out of the Detroit suburb of Birmingham. The board cited concerns about a number of “very minor” traffic violations allegedly committed by Johnson that hadn’t been addressed, and one member said that there were warrants out, according to MIRS. In addition, Sims had some issues that were concerning, according to the board.
This was the first step in the licensing process, and both men would’ve needed to get a second approval from this board before earning this license.
