KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo Organization focused on helping people address substance abuse and end poverty needs room to expand because there is no end to the work they have to do.
Prevention Works wants to renovate an old fire station on North Burdick, to get closer to the community they serve. It has just been announced they are well on the way to reaching their fundraising goal. They need just $200,000 to reach their $2.3-million dollar target.
CEO Danielle Sielatycki says they serve about 9,000 children and families each year, working with the courts and other agencies to keep families together.
Prevention works calls it the Better Tools, Brighter Futures campaign. They hope to move into their new facility next summer. You can donate online at prevention-works.org
