HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — In two Facebook posts, Zeeland Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga marked the death of President George H.W. Bush.
On Saturday, Huizenga wrote, “President George H.W. Bush is an American hero and a patriot who led by example. He served our nation with humility and passion. While I am saddened by his passing, I know he is in a better place and reunited with the love of his life Barbara. Thank you for your lifetime of service Mr. President!”
Later, he added a second note: “Thank you President George H.W. Bush for your service, dedication, and leadership. While you will be missed here, it brings comfort knowing you are reunited with both Barbara and Robin. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Bush Family during this time of loss. On behalf of a grateful nation, rest well Mr. President.”
On Monday, he added a note about Mr. Bush’s service dog, Sully.
Mr. Bush’s death has led to an outpouring of memories around the world.
