PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Authorities are investigating the discovery of a dead body in Portage.
A witness called into the WKZO newsroom just before 1 p.m. Monday and reported that her family found the body partially in the water of Long Lake outside their home on West Long Lake Drive.
She says her sister apparently heard a loud boom late Sunday night but did not see anything until the next day.
They believe the victim is a man with a gunshot wound to the head but no further details have been released.
At the time she said authorities were still assessing the situation and no names have been released.
