LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Deputies say a good Samaritan was struck by his own vehicle in an unusual three vehicle chain reaction collision Saturday night in LaGrange Township.
Deputies say a 58-year-old woman from Elkhart broke down along Dailey Road, leaving her PT Cruiser stopped partially in the roadway.
31-year-old Alejandro Velasco stopped his Jeep to lend assistance, parking in front of the disabled vehicle.
That’s when deputies say 19-year-old Jacob Butters of Bronson came along in his Chevy Silverado and crashed into the rear of the PT Cruiser, the impact forcing it into the Jeep which lurched forward.
Velasco was standing in front of the Jeep and was struck by it, but not injured.
A passenger in the Silverado and two people in the PT Cruiser did suffer minor injuries and were treated at Ascension Borgess Lee Hospital.
It remains under investigation, and could result in charges or citations.
