KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Health officials are warning residents about a raw sewage leak.
They’re advising anyone who was walking in the Parkview Hills trail system by Willow Lake and Lime Kiln Lake from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday to disinfect their shoes, clothes and their skin thoroughly, because they may have been exposed to the sewage.
The City Utilities Department says there was a discharge of about 1500 gallons of raw sewage near Greenleaf Circle East in the Parkview Hills subdivision during the noon hour that they were unable to stop until 2:20 p.m.
The area has since been remediated.
