ROSS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As expected, the Ross Township Board has unanimously opted out of allowing recreational marijuana businesses from locating in their jurisdiction.
Residents were adamantly opposed to letting medical marijuana businesses locate there. They voted against recreational marijuana.
It even became a major issue in the latest Township Board elections and at a packed meeting Thursday night, they voted to opt out.
Communities like Portage are opting out now but will reconsider later when the state has drafted regulations for the sale of recreational marijuana.
Ross Township has no plans to reconsider their decision.
