MICHIGAN (WHTC-AM/FM) — George Perles resigned from the Michigan State University Board of Trustees, announcing his decision in a letter to Board of Trustees President Brian Breslin on Nov. 29, 2018.
Perles, 84, a former long-time MSU head football coach and — for a short time, the school’s athletic director, cited his health as one of the reasons he is resigning.
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will now appoint a replacement.
Perles is also facing a lawsuit that claims he knew of the activity of former sports doctor Larry Nassar while he was MSU’s athletic director, but covered it up.
