UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — Despite a dusting of Lake Effect snow overnight and some frozen sidewalks, Tuesday’s commute in West Michigan is expected to be a lot more pleasant than it was Monday morning.
Kalamazoo County road crews not only encountered wet heavy snow in the road, but a lot of down trees and branches on the pavement and a number of snow laden branches hanging low over roads.
Road Commission officials say it slowed their plowing operations.

Consumers Energy will be restoring power to the last few areas in rural Kalamazoo and Calhoun County that lost power from the winter storm.
About 20,000 Consumers customers were blacked-out at the peak.
I&M Reports they had 8,400 customers in Berrien County in the dark on Monday and 4,000 of them went to bed without power.
