UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The cost of that Thanksgiving meal will be just a little less expensive this year, due mainly to an overabundance of turkey.
The American Farm Bureau Federation has conducted its 33rd annual survey of classic items comprising of the Thanksgiving Day dinner spread. Results found the average cost of this year’s feast for ten is 48-dollars-90-cents, or less than five-dollars per person.
That’s down 22-cents from last year and is at its lowest level since 2010.
In addition to turkey, other foods that are cheaper to buy this year include sweet potatoes, green peas and rolls.
