UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The firearms deer hunting season has claimed a two lives in Michigan so far.
On opening day the DNR says 38-year-old Justin Beutel of Sanford was fatally wounded by a stranger who was hunting on the same piece of private property.
The other man, a 45-year-old from Gaylord who apparently thought Beutel was a deer., may face charges even though they are calling it accidental.
A 67-year-old man from Lansing was shot and killed while hunting on public land in Bath Township in Clinton County.
The victim’s name has not been released and they are still trying to identify the other hunter who pulled the trigger Friday.
