QUINCY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A device used to keep engine blocks warm in the winter time so they are easier to start is being blamed for sparking a barn fire in Branch County.
The Quincy Fire Department says the first engines to respond to the fire at 315 Maple Road found the barn fully engulfed in flames so they initially focused on saving another building just five feet away.
Three other fire departments were requested through mutual aid to haul water to the fire scene.
No estimate of damage was released but the barn and farm equipment was destroyed. There were no injuries.
