NEWBURG TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Deputies responded to a freak double rollover along a particularly slushy section of Hoffman Road in Newburg Township Friday just after 2pm.
When Deputies arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles that had separately had nearly identical rollover crashes at the same spot, and had landed right next to each other about 20 feet off the road in the ditch.
It happened first to a white Chevy Pickup, which rolled over three times after leaving the road. Just minutes later, the driver of a Buick sedan hit the same slushy patch, rolled the car once and came to rest just feet behind the pick-up.
The occupants of the Pickup 18-year-old Kaylee and 72-year-old Leslie Thieme of Vandalia were transported to Three Rivers Hospital for treatment of Injuries.
The Driver of the Buick did not require hospitalization.
All three were belted in, preventing additional injuries.
