UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The weather this weekend prompted the Kalamazoo Sunrise Rotary to move Sunday’s observation of Veteran’s Day from Rose Park to Arcadia Ale on the other side of Veteran’s Bridge across the river at 2 pm.
Sunday is a special Veterans Day, which will mark 100 years since the end of World War I.
The area’s largest memorial service was held at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at 11am, on the 11th day of the 11th month, the date and time the Armistice was signed.
At the same moment churches in downtown Kalamazoo rang their bells.
The Daughters of The American Revolution plan several events, including a Luminaria in Bronson Park beginning at 5:30. l
