LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — Governor Elect Gretchen Whitmer has hit the ground running, preparing for January first when she will assume the job, meeting yesterday with Governor Snyder.
She also appointed a transition team to begin putting together a staff.
Whitmer says a top priority will be infrastructure, including water and the darn roads.
There are a lot of familiar names on the transition team, including Attorney Mark Bernstein who will serve as director. Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade, Former Congressman Dr. Joe Schwarz of Battle Creek, Cass County Native, former WMU Trustee and Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer, and Dr. Mona Hannah Attisha who blew the whistle on the Flint Water Crisis. There are others as well.
