KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The polls are now closed and the results are coming in.
A running list of the Kalamazoo County election results can be found on the Kalamazoo County Government’s website.
A reminder that these are only the results for Kalamazoo County. Other county results and a full list of the final count for Michigan will be posted as they come.
MIRS News is reporting Democrat Gretchen Whitmer as Michigan’s 49th governor and Democrat Jocelyn Benson as Michigan’s Secretary of State.
MIRS News is also reporting that all 3 ballot proposals, Proposal 1, the legalization of recreational marijuana, Proposal 2, changing how legislative districts are drawn, and Proposal 3, Promote the Vote, have passed.
One result that can be called is the 60th House District seat with incumbent Democrat John Hoadley leading considerably by over 17,000 votes against Republican William Baker at 4,800.
Once all precincts have been reported to the county by local jurisdictions, the Secretary of State’s website will have the statewide election results.Minute by minute updates of the statewide and national results can be found here.
The results are stated as “unofficial” because absentee ballots have not been counted at this time and with so many absentee ballots requested and submitted this year, it could be a game changer.
Election officials are also interested to see the voter turnout totals, as it has been projected as a record-breaking midterm election turnout for Michigan.
