SOUTHWEST MI (WKZO AM/FM) — You may be looking forward to time off this weekend but political operatives, campaigners and the candidates themselves plan to work through the weekend, banging on doors and working phone banks with just days to go before the mid-term vote on Tuesday.
Kalamazoo House Representative Jon Hoadley has been working to get democrats elected. They need to flip nine seats in the State House and 8 in the Senate to win the majorities.
He says right now the signs are looking good, people are voting at record numbers, they’re engaged with the campaigns, and they’re getting a great response.
But Bill Schuette, who heads the Republican ticket, says that isn’t going to happen calling it “nonsense.”
Hoadley says it will all depend on turnout, and whether a big blue wave will be enough to overcome the advantage Republicans have because of the way legislative districts are drawn.
