HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Hospital reports collecting 111 pounds of unused or unwanted prescription medications were collected during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events on Saturday, Oct. 27. Participating locations included, Holland Hospital, Ottawa County Public Health and Walgreens. Holland Hospital collected 111 pounds, making it the largest drop-off site of the participating locations.
Marc Lewis, Holland Hospital pharmacy services manager, said he appreciated the team effort.
“Events like this not only keep unwanted medications out of our community and waterways,” he said, “but also educate and provide valuable resources for those struggling with addiction.”
Holland Hospital partnered with Ottawa County, Hope College, the Holland Police Department and the Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (OPEN) for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
