KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A collision between a sedan and a motorcycle Saturday afternoon sent an 8-year-old boy to the hospital after he and the motorcyclist were thrown 15 feet from the impact.
It happened just after 1 pm along one of the most dangerous stretches of roadway in Kalamazoo County, on North Drake just south of West Main.
Police say it’s fortunate that both were wearing helmets and they urge others on motorcycles to do the same for their own safety.
The boy was alert and conscious at the scene and sent to the hospital for a checkup as a precaution.
The motorcyclist did not have a driver’s license or a motorcycle endorsement and that resulted in citations.
