GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – What’s happening to the so-called Blue Wave? A new poll from EPIC-MRA that was commissioned by WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids is suggesting it could be fizzling out in Michigan as Republicans have made some gains in the major statewide races.
In the race for governor, Republican Bill Schuette now trails his Democratic rival Gretchen Whitmer 46-41 percent. That’s just outside the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus four points as Schuette has gained support from undecided voters according to the poll.
Republican John James has trimmed Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow’s lead but Stabenow is still ahead 49-42 percent.
In the Attorney General race, Democrat Dana Nessel and Republican Tom Leonard are tied at 39 percent.
For Secretary of State, Democrat Jocelyn Benson leads Republican Mary Treder Lang 40-36 percent.
The poll surveyed 600 persons and it was conducted between last Thursday and this past Tuesday.
