OAK PARK (WKZO AM/FM) — Officials in Oak Park Michigan have banned clown costumes from city-sponsored Halloween events, but they may be missing the spirit of the holiday.
The decision was made to address the fact that some people get anxious when clowns are around.
They are fine with witches, vampires and other monsters. Officials say the recent change in clown costumes that depict them as evil characters factored in their decision.
Oak Park plans an event for residents on Halloween. The event will include hayrides, music, and cider and donuts for those attending.
Feel free to come dressed as an axe murderer or, a zombie but no clowns.
