LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — They have broken ground on a memorial for the over 600 Michigan Law Enforcement Officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The fundraising campaign began 14 years ago and was only recently kickstarted by the Snyder Administration to reach its $3-million goal.
Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth told TV-6 that unfortunately almost every community in Michigan has had a local officer make the ultimate sacrifice at some time in their history.
The Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument will be called “The Sentinel.”
And it should be ready for dedication sometime next year.
It will be constructed in Veterans Memorial Park in Lansing.
