BENTON HARBOR/KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A murder trial for a Benton Harbor man is being delayed a month while the prosecutor investigates if there was a link between the suspect and the murder of a man at a Kalamazoo Liquor Store.
27-year-old Adarius Ferguson is accused of killing Kyre Hull at a Benton Harbor apartment complex June of 2017.
That second victim, 23-year-old Takarri Lucas, was the prosecution’s key witness in the case against Ferguson but he was killed at the J&B Discount Liquor Store in September.
Jerome Oday has been arrested for the Lucas killing, but there are reports that he may be linked to Ferguson through a woman who worked at the Berrien County Jail until the day before the Lucas murder.
The judge has rescheduled Ferguson’s trial for November 27th., the week after Thanksgiving.
