KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Rachel Kaiser betrayed a lot of people, pilfering money from the Kalamazoo Strong charity for her personal use. But she will avoid jail after cutting a deal with prosecutors.
In exchange for having an embezzlement charged dropped, she agreed to pay about $4300 restitution and will serve 24-months on probation for committing a crime using a computer.
She apologized in court for what she says was lapse in judgement.
The Kalamazoo Strong organization began fundraising after Kalamazoo’s mass shooting to assist the families of the victims, and was expanded to include the victims of Kalamazoo’s bike tragedy a few months later.
She no longer lives in the Kalamazoo area.
