OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — After being hit by a fallng tree, an 11-year-old Allendale Township girl is in critical condition at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
Dill said the incident happened just after the family arrived at their Warner Street home, around 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, and the girl saw a family friend in the front yard, cutting down trees with a chain saw. She ran to greet him, but a falling tree struck her, causing head and internal injuries, Dill said.
Allendale Township firefighters and Life EMS assisted at the scene.
