MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect is in the St. Joseph County Jail after smashing through a fence and leading officers on a chase.
Deputies were called to the 11000 block of US-12 in Mottville Township just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday after reports of a disorderly subject.
When they arrived on scene the 42-year-old man from White Pigeon jumped into his vehicle, plowed through a fence, and sped onto the roadway.
Police chased the driver, used stop sticks to flatten his tires, and the pursuit ended in the Village of White Pigeon.
The man then got out of the vehicle but refused to follow the commands by deputies.
He was then tased and taken into custody on felony charges of fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, as well as misdemeanor alcohol and drug charges.
