KENT COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — If you are headed up to Grand Rapids for ArtPrize, there will be a slight detour.
MDOT Crews, unable to raise the crash prone 100th street bridge which has been struck repeatedly by tall semi loads this year, plan to lower the roadway underneath the bridge this weekend.
They will be funneling traffic on US 131 up the ramp and back down on the other side to get around the construction. It could create a bottle neck depending on traffic volume.
If all goes as planned and the weather cooperates, they will have the work done before the commute Monday morning.
