KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Once again there are three candidates running for the State Senate seat now held by Margaret O’Brien.
Just as it was four years ago, Sean McCann has the Democratic Party’s nomination and Libertarian Lorence Wenke makes it three.
He doesn’t expect to win, in fact he is pretty sure he will get even fewer votes this time, but he runs to promote his issues.
He is a former Republican who served three terms in the State Legislature, and quit the GOP over their opposition to LGBTQ rights.
He doesn’t use it, but supports marijuana. He would like to see alcohol taxed like cigarettes to dissuade people from buying it.
He thinks government workers make too much money and his favorite way to campaign is to sit by the side of the road and invite people to stop and talk.
