KEELER TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Van Buren County Sheriff deputies say anonymous tips led to the seize of thousands of dollars of drugs.
Authorities were called to the area of 2nd Street and Territorial Road in Keeler Township around 3:30 p.m. Saturday after reports of an illegal marijuana growing operation.
Deputies could see the tops of the marijuana plants growing over the fence and the homeowner admitted to the operation.
They seized 5 plants between 7 and 9.5 feet tall with an estimated street value between $2500 and $5000.
The 40-year-old man and 35-year-old woman are cooperating with authorities and no arrests havebeen made at this time.
