KENT COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — Three people have died violent deaths in Kent County after what police are calling a double murder-suicide, but this one also included a police stand-off between those deaths.
It began with the discovery that a man and a woman had been shot dead in a home in the 10000 block of Rooksby St. NE in Spencer Township Sunday morning.
Family members and friends had asked Kent County Deputies to check on the welfare of the couple, which led to the discovery of their murdered bodies.
The investigation into those deaths lead police to a unit at Ramblewood Apartments the 4200 block of Stonebridge Ave. SW, where their suspect was barricaded with his family.
They were able to secure the release of his wife and two children.
The stand-off continued for nearly 12-hours, until shortly after midnight police forcibly entered the apartment and found that their suspect was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
no names have been released.
